Flying trapeze is an incredible physical activity, but the real magic goes deeper. It clears your mind, builds confidence, and brings you fully into the present moment. For a little while, the noise of everyday life fades away and all that matters is the swing, the timing, and the joy of flight.
At our flying trapeze school, it’s not just about learning a spectacular trick— it’s about the feeling that comes with it. The moment you climb the ladder, take a breath, and let go, something shifts. Fear turns into focus. Doubt turns into exhilaration. And suddenly you remember what it feels like to truly play again. And when it’s over, you can’t wait to do it again.
And you don’t do it alone. The net, the rig, the instructors and the cheers from the ground create something special — a community. Strangers become teammates, first-timers become regulars, and every catch is celebrated together. Whether you arrive nervous, curious, or adventurous, you’ll leave feeling stronger, lighter, and connected.
You don’t need experience, strength, or bravery to start. Just a willingness to climb the ladder.
We’ll take care of the rest.
We believe that anyone can learn to fly. Our two hour Level 1 classes are open to all, with our youngest students aged 8, and our oldest (so far) aged 78!
Gorilla Circus has been teaching Flying Trapeze in London since 2009, quickly becoming a favourite part of London’s local summer activities. We are the only Grand Volant flying trapeze in London, and our school attracts world-class flying trapeze artists from all over the globe. Every summer we get a wonderful mix of people coming to train and to teach as well as thousands of curious beginners with a taste for adventure.
Classes are released in blocks every four weeks and book up quickly. The more classes you take the more advanced tricks you can perform! We offer class packs for Level 1 classes to help reduce the cost per class. Signing up to our newsletter or following us on social media are the best ways to ensure you don’t miss the release dates. We look forward to seeing you at one of our locations this summer – either Regent’s Park or Kensington Gardens (just around the corner from Hyde Park).

Gorilla Circus are committed to making Flying Trapeze accessible to as many people as possible. If you have a disability please do contact us at [email protected] and we can work with you to see if it is possible to adapt the class to suit you access requirements.
Children age 8+ are welcome at Gorilla Circus. All children must have already had their 8th birthday before they attend a class.
Students under 16 need to be supervised by an adult for the duration of the class.
There are no height limitations.
There is a 100kg weight limit in order to protect our students. This limit is based on the maximum body weight that an experienced instructor can give a controlled landing to the net. Please do contact us at [email protected] if you are over 100kg and are passionate about flying as depending on your your athletic experience there may be work arounds to this.
No, Gorilla Circus has a philosophy of making circus accessible for all. Our instructors will work to your strengths and there is nothing better for improving strength and fitness than Flying Trapeze!
Comfortable clothing that you can move freely in. Leggings are ideal as they cover the backs of the knees. A fitted short sleeve top that exposes the lower arms. Jeans and overly baggy clothes aren’t advised.
Please be aware that this is a weather dependent activity and weather by its nature is unpredictable. We obviously don’t want to mess our students around or make them have a wasted journey, however we also want to run classes whenever possible and we try hard to balance these considerations.
You should assume that your class is going ahead unless you hear otherwise from us. If we have to cancel classes due to bad weather you will be contacted by text or phone at least an hour before the class starts.
Please do not assume your class is cancelled; if you do not attend your class and we have not cancelled it you will not be entitled to a refund.
If your class is rained-off we will send you a code you can use with our booking system to reschedule your class. It is up to you to make sure that you rebook before the end of our outdoor season as these codes cannot be used for indoor classes. We do not provide refunds for rain.
If your class gets stopped in its first hour you will be entitled to a 50% discount on the next class you book.
There are 10 spaces available in each class.
You can book a maximum of 6 spaces per class. Any groups over 6 will need to book a private class.
We have 4 levels of Flying Trapeze Classes, as well as a special “Only the Catch” class and a Strength and Conditioning Class. To find out which one suits you best take a look at our Class Descriptions.
Please note that only students who have been cleared by a teacher or administrator are allowed to fly in classes Level 2 or above. If you are new to Gorilla Circus and would like to take a higher level class please email [email protected], and someone will be delighted to help you. Kindly read our T&Cs about booking classes and refunds.
Level 1 classes are 2 hours long. For a description of our classes by one of our students you can read Jojo’s blog here
You can cancel a booking up to 1 week ahead of your class and receive a full refund, or you can reschedule up to 72 hours in advance (You are responsible for rescheduling before the end of the season, and we will not be able to provide a refund if you do not reschedule in time). Classes can be transferred between individuals, so if you can’t make it maybe a friend can!
It’s not possible to make any changes within course bookings, meaning that individual classes within courses can’t be rescheduled, swapped or refunded. You are welcome to arrange your own private swap/sale of individual classes to frequent flyers using the Facebook page ‘Gorilla Circus student Notice Board.’
If it is your first class you need to arrive 10 mins early so that you can sign your consent form. Classes start at the time advertised. Once the class starts then late comers can not be accommodated so unfortunately have to be turned away (so please be on time cause it makes us really sad when we have to do this!)
Yes, of course! Get them to bring a camera to capture your moment of glory.
A flying trapeze class makes a wonderful and unusual gift experience.
We release a limited batch of vouchers for November for people to purchase as Christmas gifts.
We’d love to host your next team building day, hen-do, birthday party or event that needs celebrating with flying trapeze! Find out more here…
A Class Pack is when you buy 5 Classes at once for a reduced per class rate. This is something new this season, and we are currently trialling it for Level 1 Classes. A class pack costs £200, and a Level 1 Class costs £36 – £44.99 depending on the time/day of the class. You can use your class pack to pay for any Level 1 class on the schedule, but you must use it by June 30th. Click here to purchase.
EXCELLENT Based on 263 reviews Posted on Google Andrea Carrara Un posto incredibile ai margini occidentali di Regent’s park. Posted on Google Matt James Amazing place - great for beginners, very safe, clear instructions and a fun environment. You will see a path on the right hand side which leads down to the canal and towpath. Enjoy the walk.Posted on Google Olivia Pei Wen LU Amazing experience!!
